Rex’s personal background is that he grew up a performing musician in Las Vegas and has toured the Las Vegas, Reno and Lake Tahoe circuit extensively with performing groups and has also toured throughout Asia entertaining troops during the Viet Nam war. After a few years of performing, Rex decided to get an education. He attended the University of Nevada in Las Vegas and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting. Rex was then accepted to law school at the J. Reuben Clark Law School in Provo, Utah. Upon graduating there, Rex passed the Utah State Bar exam and has practiced law in Utah ever since.
While practicing law Rex became a member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, as it was called then, and toured with them throughout Eastern Europe, Russia, Washington, D.C. and appeared with them on national television (besides Sunday broadcasts) in Philadelphia. Further Rex has recorded his own original country songs in Nashville and was a top 50 artist on the country charts. Rex has written two articles for the Utah State Bar Journal and has written and published two books on his life’s experiences. Rex is admitted to practice in the state of Utah, Washington D.C. Circuit Court, the United States Tax Court, and has taught a tax law course with the Washington Institute of Graduate Studies.
Rex is married and has six children and seven grand children with more expected. His wife, Florence, has six children and 10 grand children with more expected. Work and family pursuits keep Rex busy though he is not overly busy that he cannot be available to talk by telephone daily with his clients.
